Former Vice President Al Gore has reportedly become a vegan.

According to the Washington Post, "an individual familiar with Gore's decision"

said that the climate activist made the decision several months ago.

Since becoming a vegetarian in 1975, at the ripe old age of 36, I have constantly been told that humans are naturally designed to eat anything that had a face and a mother and pooped. This, obviously, was told to me by conditioned people that were addicted to the taste of flesh and blood.

SRILA BHUGARBHA GOSWAMI

Just as there is very little mentioned in the scriptures about the life of arala Lokanatha Goswami, in the same way, there is little written about his dear friend arala Bhugarbha Goswami. arala Lokanatha and ara Bhugarbha Goswami were of one heart and mind.Â On the order of Caitanya Mahaprabhu they went to live in Vrndavana.Â Bhugarbha Goswami was a disciple of Gadadhara Pandita. Among his disciples were ara Govindadev’s pajara Caitanya dasa, as well as Mukundananda Cakravarta, Prema Krsnadasa and others.

Srila Krsnadasa Kaviraja Goswami writes: The eleventh branch of Gadadhara Goswami was Bhugarbha Goswami and the twelfth was Bhagavata dasa. Both of them went to Vrndavana and resided there for life.” ara Kavikaraapura writes in his Gaura-gaaodesa-dipika that Bhugarbha Goswami was formerly the gopi named Prema Manjari in Vrndavana. While in Vrndavana, Bhugarbha Goswami passed away and entered into the unmanifest pastimes of the Lord on the fourteenth day of the full moon in the month of Kartika. Lokanatha Goswami and Bhugarbha Goswami lived together in Vrndavana as one.

Srila Narahari Cakravarta Thakura writes about them in his Bhakti-ratnakara: “Bhugarbha Goswami and Lokanatha Goswami were world-preachers; they were so close and affectionate to one another that they were like one body.”

THE GLORIES OF CHANTING THE HOLY NAME FROM SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM

Quotes from Srimad Bhagavatam:

äpannaù saàsåtià ghoräàyan-näma vivaço gåëantataù sadyo vimucyetayad bibheti svayaà bhayam
Living beings who are entangled in the complicated meshes of birth and death can be freed immediately by even unconsciously chanting the holy name of Kåñëa, which is feared by fear personified. SB 1.1.14

säìketyaà pärihäsyaà västobhaà helanam eva vävaikuëöha-näma-grahaëamaçeñägha-haraà viduù
One who chants the holy name of the Lord is immediately freed from the reactions of unlimited sins, even if he chants indirectly to indicate something else (sanketya), jokingly (parihasya), for musical entertainment (stobha), or even neglectfully (helana). This is accepted by all the learned scholars of the scriptures. SB 6.2.14

THE GLORIES OF UTTHANA EKADASI

Lord Brahma said to Narada Muni, "Dear son, O best of the sages, I shall narrate to you the glories of Haribodhini Ekadashi, which eradicates all kinds of sins and bestows great merit, and ultimately liberation, upon the wise persons who surrender unto the Supreme Lord.

"O best of the brahmanas, the merits acquired by bathing in the Ganges remain significant only as long as Haribodhini Ekadashi does not come. This Ekadashi, which occurs during the light fortnight of the month of Kartika, is much more purifying than a bath in the ocean, at a place of pilgrimage, or in a lake. This sacred Ekadashi is more powerful in nullifying sin than one thousand Asvamedha sacrifices and one hundred Rajasuya sacrifices."
